Kentucky Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE” ) is an ethics exam administered by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (“NCBE” ) and not by the state of Kentucky. The MPRE is administered separately from the Kentucky bar exam and is generally tested three times each year in March, August, and November.

MPRE for Kentucky

Kentucky requires an MPRE scaled score of 75 or greater prior to sitting for the Kentucky bar exam. (KY SCR 2.015). There is no time limit regarding when an applicant may take the MPRE. Applicants may take the MPRE anytime during law school. Individuals who have filed an application to take the Kentucky bar exam prior to taking the MPRE will have their application withdrawn until a passing MPRE score is achieved.

Kentucky accepts MPRE scaled scores that were achieved in another jurisdiction.
