The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE” ) is an ethics exam administered by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (“NCBE” ) and not by the state of Idaho. The MPRE is administered separately from the Idaho bar exam and is generally tested three times each year in March, August, and November.
Please visit the Ethics Exam/MPRE page for general information about the MPRE and the MPRE application process.
Idaho requires an MPRE scaled score of 85 or greater. Applicants must pass the MPRE prior to taking the Idaho bar exam or within the next two scheduled MPRE administrations after successfully completing the Idaho bar exam. (Idaho Bar Commission Rules, Rule 202(b)).
There is no MPRE requirement for Idaho Admission on Motion.
Idaho accepts MPRE scores that were achieved in another jurisdiction.
