Oregon Pro Hac Vice

Chapter 9, Rule 9.241 of the Oregon Revised Statutes and Chapter 3, Rule 3.170 of the Oregon Uniform Trial Court Rules provide the rules regarding admission for attorneys licensed in other jurisdictions who are seeking pro hac vice admission.

For pro hac vice applications to appear before a court, attorneys are required to submit the Certificate of Compliance for Pro Hac Vice Admission to the Oregon State Bar. The application must include a certificate of good standing, certificate of malpractice insurance, and a nonrefundable fee. The fee is not required for government attorneys representing the government in an official capacity. The Oregon State Bar will then return an Acknowledgment Receipt. The local Oregon attorney submits a motion to the court, with the Acknowledgment Receipt and any information the Bar included with the receipt, requesting the court grant the pro hac vice application.

Attorneys are required to submit a Renewal Certificate after expiration of the one-year pro hac vice admission period.
