Pennsylvania House Counsel

Rule 302 (Limited In-House Corporate Counsel License) of the Pennsylvania Bar Admission Rules allows attorneys licensed in other jurisdictions to practice in Pennsylvania as house counsel attorneys when their practice is more than temporary or if the attorney maintains an office or other systematic and continuous presence in Pennsylvania. Attorneys must be employed by and perform services in Pennsylvania for a corporation, company, partnership, association, or other non-governmental business entity.

The Pennsylvania’s Multijurisdictional Practice Rules (MJP) relating to house attorneys are subject to the house counsel rules. Applicants must file a written Application.
