Virginia Pro Bono

Rule 6:4-3(e) of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia allows Virginia attorneys to become emeritus members and provide pro bono legal services to the poor and working poor in association with an approved legal assistance organization.

An “emeritus member” is any person who is admitted to practice law in Virginia who is retiring or has retired from the active practice of law and who intends to provide pro bono services according to the rules.
