D.C. Bar Exam Format

The District of Columbia bar exam is the legacy Uniform Bar Exam (“UBE”) (NextGen UBE beginning February 2028; legacy through July 2027). Passing score: legacy 266; NextGen 616. Portable UBE transfer within five years (legacy 266 / NextGen 616 from July 2026 administrations). No standalone MBE transfer for the exam path (NCBE). See NCBE and Admissions for current rules.
