Wyoming MPRE

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE” ) is an ethics exam administered by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (“NCBE” ) and not by the state of Wyoming. The MPRE is administered separately from the Wyoming bar exam and is generally tested three times each year in March, August, and November.

MPRE for Wyoming

Wyoming requires an MPRE scaled score of 75 or greater prior to admission. Scaled scores may be obtained or transferred for up to three years from the date upon which an applicant obtains a passing score on the Wyoming Essay Exam. (Rules and Procedures Governing Admission to the Practice of Law, Rule 211(b)). For example, a valid MPRE score from March 2009 could be used through the February 2012 exam.

There is no MPRE requirement for attorneys seeking Wyoming Admission on Motion.

Wyoming MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer

Wyoming accepts MPRE scaled scores of 75 or greater that were achieved in another jurisdiction for up to three years.
