Oregon House Counsel

Rule 16.05 of the Rules for Admission of Attorneys allows attorneys employed by an Oregon business entity to be admitted to practice law Oregon as house counsel.

A “business entity” is a corporation, partnership, association, or other legal entity (together with parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates) that is not engaged in the practice of law or the rendering of legal services. Governmental bodies are not included.
