South Carolina Government Attorneys

South Carolina does not provide special admission rules for government attorneys licensed in other jurisdictions.

However, South Carolina provides a South Carolina Multijurisdictional Practice (MJP) Rule within its rules of professional conduct. Comment 16 to that rule provides for an interpretation that may exempt out-of-state government attorneys from the unauthorized practice of law.

South Carolina does not offer Admission on Motion. Please also see the South Carolina Pro Hac Vice page to view the requirements for admission to a particular proceeding.
