Alabama Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”) is an ethics exam developed by NCBE and administered separately from the Alabama bar exam at Pearson VUE testing centers. The MPRE is generally offered three times each year (March, August, and November).

MPRE for Alabama

Alabama requires an MPRE scaled score of 75 or greater prior to admission. Confirm current timing rules with the Alabama admissions office and NCBE.

Attorneys seeking Alabama Admission on Motion must meet the MPRE requirement unless a published exception applies.

Alabama MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer

Alabama accepts MPRE scaled scores achieved in another jurisdiction when reported through NCBE score services. Request an additional score report for Alabama through NCBE.
