Ohio Multisate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”) is an ethics exam developed by NCBE and administered separately from the Ohio bar exam at Pearson VUE testing centers. The MPRE is generally offered three times each year (March, August, and November).

MPRE for Ohio

Ohio requires an MPRE scaled score of 85 or greater prior to admission. Confirm current timing rules with the Ohio admissions office and NCBE.

Attorneys seeking Ohio Admission on Motion must meet the MPRE requirement unless a published exception applies.

Ohio MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer

Ohio accepts MPRE scaled scores achieved in another jurisdiction when reported through NCBE score services. Request an additional score report for Ohio through NCBE.
