Idaho Bar Exam

Idaho Bar Exam Format

Beginning with the July 2026 administration, Idaho administers the NextGen Uniform Bar Exam. Legacy MBE, MEE, and MPT components are no longer administered (final legacy sitting: February 2026). Confirm current rules with the Idaho State Bar Admissions office and NCBE.

NextGen UBE
The NextGen UBE tests foundational concepts and lawyering skills through multiple-choice questions, integrated question sets, and performance tasks. See NCBE’s NextGen materials for the current content outline. Idaho does not require a separate jurisdiction-specific exam component.

UBE Score Transfer
Idaho accepts portable scores: legacy UBE 266 or greater, or NextGen UBE 616 or greater, earned within 37 months. NextGen transfers are accepted from July 2026 administrations.

MBE Score Transfer
NCBE lists Idaho as accepting transferred MBE scores. For NextGen sittings, confirm any remaining MBE-transfer options with Admissions.
