Kansas Multijurisdictional Practice (MJP)

Kansas Rules of Professional Conduct and Supreme Court admission rules (including temporary practice under Rule 205.1 and single-employer practice under Rule 721) address multijurisdictional practice. See the MJP hub for general background.

Out-of-state lawyers generally may not establish a systematic and continuous Kansas practice or hold out as Kansas-admitted except as authorized by court rule or other law.

Temporary practice

Temporary services may be permitted under Kansas RPC 5.5(c) and related Supreme Court rules when requirements are met. Court appearances remain subject to pro hac vice.
