Montana Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”) is an ethics exam developed by NCBE and administered separately from the Montana bar exam at Pearson VUE testing centers. The MPRE is generally offered three times each year (March, August, and November).

MPRE for Montana

Montana requires an MPRE scaled score of 80 or greater prior to admission. Confirm current timing rules with the Montana admissions office and NCBE.

Attorneys seeking Montana Admission on Motion must meet the MPRE requirement unless a published exception applies.

Montana MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer

Montana accepts MPRE scaled scores achieved in another jurisdiction when reported through NCBE score services. Request an additional score report for Montana through NCBE.
