New Hampshire House Counsel
New Hampshire does not maintain a separate house-counsel registration program. Out-of-state lawyers employed as in-house counsel generally rely on New Hampshire Rules of Professional Conduct 5.5(d)(1), which permits legal services on behalf of the employer if the lawyer is authorized to practice where principally licensed and the services do not require pro hac vice admission.
Limits
This safe harbor does not authorize holding out as a New Hampshire lawyer or appearing in New Hampshire tribunals without pro hac vice or other admission. See also New Hampshire MJP.
