South Carolina Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”) is an ethics exam developed by NCBE and administered separately from the South Carolina bar exam at Pearson VUE testing centers. The MPRE is generally offered three times each year (March, August, and November).

MPRE for South Carolina

South Carolina requires an MPRE scaled score of 77 or greater prior to admission. Confirm current timing rules with the South Carolina admissions office and NCBE.

Attorneys seeking South Carolina Admission on Motion must meet the MPRE requirement unless a published exception applies.

South Carolina MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer

South Carolina accepts MPRE scaled scores achieved in another jurisdiction when reported through NCBE score services. Request an additional score report for South Carolina through NCBE.
