Utah Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”) is an ethics exam developed by NCBE and administered separately from the Utah bar exam at Pearson VUE testing centers. The MPRE is generally offered three times each year (March, August, and November).

MPRE for Utah

Utah requires an MPRE scaled score of 86 or greater prior to admission. Confirm current timing rules with the Utah admissions office and NCBE.

Attorneys seeking Utah Admission on Motion must meet the MPRE requirement unless a published exception applies.

Utah MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer

Utah accepts MPRE scaled scores achieved in another jurisdiction when reported through NCBE score services. Request an additional score report for Utah through NCBE.
