Washington Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”) is an ethics exam developed by NCBE and administered separately from the Washington bar exam at Pearson VUE testing centers. The MPRE is generally offered three times each year (March, August, and November).

MPRE for Washington

Washington requires an MPRE scaled score of 85 or greater prior to admission. Confirm current timing rules with the Washington admissions office and NCBE.

Attorneys seeking Washington Admission on Motion must meet the MPRE requirement unless a published exception applies.

Washington MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer

Washington accepts MPRE scaled scores achieved in another jurisdiction when reported through NCBE score services. Request an additional score report for Washington through NCBE.
