Connecticut Law Professors

Connecticut does not provide special admission for law professors that are licensed in other jurisdictions. However, Sec 2-13 of the Connecticut Rules Regulating the Admission to the Bar allows clinical law professors to qualify for Connecticut’s Admission on Motion procedures whether or not they were practicing in a reciprocal jurisdiction.

Law professors who are engaged in the supervision of law students within a clinical law program of one or more accredited law schools in another jurisdiction satisfy the reciprocity requirement for Connecticut Admission on Motion. The law professor must be engaged as a clinic professor for five of the seven years immediately preceding the date of the application.

Law professors must file a law school Dean certification of each law school attesting to the employment relationships and the period of time the applicant engaged in the supervision of law students with a clinical program at such school.
