Connecticut Bar Exam

Connecticut Bar Exam Format

Beginning with the July 2026 administration, Connecticut administers the NextGen Uniform Bar Exam (not the legacy UBE components). The legacy MBE, MEE, and MPT are no longer administered in Connecticut (final legacy sitting: February 2026). Confirm current rules with Connecticut Bar Examining Committee and NCBE.

NextGen UBE
The NextGen UBE tests foundational concepts and lawyering skills through multiple-choice questions, integrated question sets, and performance tasks. See NCBE’s NextGen materials for the current content outline.

MBE Score Transfer
Connecticut does not accept standalone MBE score transfers.

UBE Score Transfer
Connecticut accepts portable scores: legacy UBE 266 or greater, or NextGen UBE 616 or greater, earned within five years. Confirm transfer filing rules with the Committee.

Connecticut Bar Exam Dates and Application

The exam continues on the standard February / July bar calendar. Applications, fees, and deadlines are on the Connecticut Bar Examining Committee site.
