North Carolina Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)
The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”) is an ethics exam developed by NCBE and administered separately from the North Carolina bar exam at Pearson VUE testing centers. The MPRE is generally offered three times each year (March, August, and November).

MPRE for North Carolina
North Carolina requires an MPRE scaled score of 80 or greater prior to admission. Confirm current timing rules with the North Carolina admissions office and NCBE.
Attorneys seeking North Carolina Admission on Motion must meet the MPRE requirement unless a published exception applies.
North Carolina MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer
North Carolina accepts MPRE scaled scores achieved in another jurisdiction when reported through NCBE score services. Request an additional score report for North Carolina through NCBE.
