North Dakota House Counsel
North Dakota Admission to Practice Rule 3(C) requires annual registration of nonresident lawyers employed in North Dakota exclusively as in-house counsel for a qualifying entity. Confirm current forms and fees with the Board of Law Examiners.
Eligibility and limits
Registrants must be admitted elsewhere and otherwise qualified for North Dakota admission (except certain practice-duration requirements). Registration is limited to five years or until eligibility for admission on motion, whichever is earlier. Practice is exclusive to the employer; court appearances require pro hac vice.
