Rhode Island Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)
The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (“MPRE”) is an ethics exam developed by NCBE and administered separately from the Rhode Island bar exam at Pearson VUE testing centers. The MPRE is generally offered three times each year (March, August, and November).

Rhode Island requires an MPRE scaled score of 80 or greater prior to admission. Confirm current timing rules with the Rhode Island admissions office and NCBE.
Attorneys seeking Rhode Island Admission on Motion must meet the MPRE requirement unless a published exception applies.
Rhode Island MPRE Scoring Reciprocity/Transfer
Rhode Island accepts MPRE scaled scores achieved in another jurisdiction when reported through NCBE score services. Request an additional score report for Rhode Island through NCBE.
