Virginia Rule 5.5 generally tracks ABA Model Rule 5.5. In-house counsel in Virginia must comply with Rule 1A:5 rather than relying solely on RPC 5.5(d)(1).

Temporary services under Rule 5.5(c) may be permitted when requirements are met. Court appearances remain subject to pro hac vice.
