Nevada Multijurisdictional Practice (MJP)
Nevada Rules of Professional Conduct (including 5.5 and 5.5A) and Rule 8.5 address unauthorized and multijurisdictional practice. See the MJP hub for general background.
Nevada uses a distinct Rule 5.5 structure with subparagraph (b) safe harbors rather than mirroring ABA Model Rule numbering exactly. In-house counsel residing in Nevada generally need SCR 49.1 limited-practice certification or another authorized path.
Temporary practice
Temporary or ancillary services may be permitted under applicable NRPC 5.5(b) provisions when requirements are met. Court appearances remain subject to pro hac vice. Confirm whether NRPC 5.5A reporting applies to your facts.
